The day started like normal except that we were going to Hong Kong today, so we had woke up early in morning to eat out breakfast and prepare the last minute items to bring… they had woke up at 9am while i woke up at 9.30am… i had slept in long because i slept at 5+am… i was excited as usual… seems like i’m going to Tekong again or something… anyways both places has the name “kong” in part of the name…

We ate our breakfast… my Sister had 2 half-boiled eggs but was not able to finish because she had added too much dark soy sauce and she asked my Brother to finish them… he was not able to finish them too, much to the reason that he was playing with his food and was chased away… so it was left to me to finish them as i had also made 2 half-boiled eggs to eat… i combined the very dark coloured eggs with my new eggs to eat them with bread… Mum just had normal toast bread…

Sat the Maxi cab Terminal 3 after we had rushed downstairs… we were trying to turn off the water mains because there seems to be water leakage yesterday, on the table next to the stove… so spent $45 on taking the Maxi Cab to the airport… Our Grandmothers, both of them, has yet to arrive…

They arrived soon after, despite calling my Aunt and her not picking up, we spotted them outside the Terminal Taxi drop off section… Mum checked our names in and both, my Mum & Aunt chatted with the register lady for a little while… we then grouped up to have our lunch at some corner of the Terminal since we could not find and found out that the place we want to eat had closed… so we ended up at some corner having Dim Sum right before boarding the flight…

We settled in… the flight took off while i had felt a little weird… probably because i had not taken a plane in such a long time… i had took quite a lot of pictures of clouds since they were the only things outside of the plane most of the time in 3Hrs 20mins of the journey… we enjoyed our in flight meal… i had oriental while my Sister had the international version of the meal… there were only 2 different sets by the way… the salad had chunks of crab meat, while there appears to be a mayonnaise with sesame seed in it… much time passed while i waited for Hong Kong to appear… i was sitting with my Sister, Mum with my Brother and two Grandmothers are sitting together… i had only went to the toilet once… because it was just a very hard thing to do when you are sitting in the inside by the window… i had only gone to the toilet while the man at the alley wanted to go to the toilet…

And so we had finally landed at Hong Kong… much like what i had seen in the tabloids, the place where people exit after they had registered for immigration, which took 10-20 mins ? (i wasn’t counting), and after collecting the luggage, was not that special anyway…

We had reached at 5+pm…

Met up with my Hong Kong Aunt… it does seems that i have Aunts everywhere of something… but but to main point… Mum pulled me to the phonecard top-up shop to top-up the 3 sim cards and to buy an additional… the shop attendants where definitely speaking funny english… its still with the typical Hong Kong accent…

After a little walking, we took the bus from the Airport Terminal to Tsing Yi… the bus we took was A31… which felt like it took about 20mins of so to reach near the hotel… the hotel that we had booked… Rambler Garden Hotel… there are two Rambler hotels in close range of each other, but we had booked the Rambler Garden Hotel… the other was the Rambler Oasis Hotel… actually only 3-4 blocks away… somehow the weird thing was that the Rambler Garden Hotel was located behind residences, thou it is Rambler Residences… i don’t really understand why is the hotel located at a weird place like that… but anyways… comparing to other hotels that i had went to in Singapore, the Rambler Garden seemed much 3 to 3.5 star… the card that they had given was quite hard to open the door… seems to need some trick or another… even the china folks, and a few of them, asked me to help them open their doors… about 5-6 door ?… so that proved that the card or the card lock is very bad in some way…

We went eating at the food place below the hotel,… i had bean dumpling and beef noodle with sauce… the had porridge, wanton noodle soup and chee chong fan… the noodle that i had was quite delicious… i had thought that i had added the chili oil… but in fact i think it is just red vinegar or something like that… not much taste… we had purchased the food at the counter by the door and waited for the food to be cooked with the queue number… quite efficient…

After eating, which i had totally lost track of time already, we went shopping at the place like Singapore’s “Shop & Save” but this was “Park n Save”…

Anyway, on the way up, the lift area was packed… we took the third left… and at the lobby floor (5th floor, or actually the floor that we booked in) a bunch of weird china girls were trying to push in and weren’t understanding that they are causing the lift to be overweight… they had pushed us hard into the lift and then at last walked out… very irritating actually…

But to the room and my Brother went to take a bath first… i took a bath second… to an especially long bath since we are paying for the water… but sadly there was no bathtub… so i had to use the bath soup some other way… but room was quite small really… and so was the toilet…our room expenses was to be $550 a night (Hong Kong Dollars) for each room… we had 3 twin rooms… the shower head was quite strong thou… the air con is definitely cold enough… the weather in Hong Kong feels like Singapore, maybe like 20 years ago or something… but Hong Kong surely had so weird weather sometimes… like extreme coldness…

Hmm, the room and the bathroom, i would feel that it would definitely suit a couple on a budget and well, it’s near the airport, so traveling there can be by bus… Disneyland is not too far away either… if some people are feeling weird about the ratings for the hotel or if they are bothered by the amount of china people, then it is surely not a place for the people in search of luxury or super comfort… the Rambler Garden Hotel certainly suits those on the budget, and appreciates the above minimum standards…

I think this will be a budget place for me to come to stay with other people next time… but they surely would have to take note of the disadvantages first… haha…
