Nightclub City Basics : Terms

Money – In Nightclub City, you can earn money from cover charges, drinks and tips. And of course from many other sources.

Energy – A basic of 150 energy, it can be used on skills, such as Bar Trick, Remove Guest, Drop Bass etc. It can also be used to start parties instantly. Energy regenerates over time, faster when you are low and slower when you are higher in energy, or boosters can be bought with Nightclub Cred.

Popularity – Popularity affects cover charge. The higher your popularity the more you charge for cover charge. It adds over the basic amount.

Luxury – Luxury affects the price of your drinks. The higher your luxury rating, the more you charge for your drinks. It adds over the basic amount of the bar counter you are using.

High Five – Guest above a certain amount of happiness is indicated with a high five that gives you 1 Energy when clicked. Happiness is reduced by 80% when clicked.

*(High Fives seem to appear 100% at 600 Happiness and above but randomly appearing from 200+ to 500+ as well. There maybe additional criteria. Some high fives that i had observed appeared when guest are affected by Bar Trick, Bottoms Up, Drop Bass & Remove Guest.)

Nightclub City Basics : Roles & Guests

DJ (White) – When playing Nightclub city, your role is the DJ. Skills of a DJ are Drop Bass & Dedicate Song. Workers – 6 friends can be recruited free of charge to work as either a bartender or a bouncer. Bartenders skills are Bar Trick & Bottoms Up. Bouncers skills are Remove Guest & VIP Hookup. Bouncers will remove guests that starts fights within their range.

Entourage (Blue) – 10 friends can also be recruited as your entourage which works similarly as celebrities. They will tend to be larger spenders comparing to Celebrities and High Rollers.

Celebrities (Purple) – 96 celebrities are at your disposal but some are location specific. It are required to be booked at a specific price unless they are in the Currently in Town list, which refreshes and they are cheaper to book.

High Rollers – Wearing a suit with white hair for the guys and a black dress with grey hair for the girls. They will tend to spend more money and will normally book your booths.

Party Animals (Green) – They have blue colored hair and wears kind of minimal. They will tend to drink and puke more, thus they might appear to be green after puking.

Jerks (Red) – They have generally tanned skin and blond hair. They will tend to pick fight with other guests and will appear red after picking a fight.

Dancers – They are usually ladies in red and wearing a cap.

Regulars – They regulate your club.

Nightclub City Basics : Skills

Drop Bass (10 Energy) – By your DJ skill, pressing the speaker icon, you can earn a sum of money which depend on the number of people on the dance floor. After using Drop Bass, the guests will tend to buy drinks. It increases happiness (+10) and tip rate.

Dedicate Song (1 Energy) – By your DJ skill, pressing the mic icon, you can earn a small amount of money when you dedicate to a guest. It increases happiness (+100) and tip rate.

Bar Trick (3 Energy) – Used by your bartenders to multiply the tip rate of nearby guests. The range of multiplication is about 20 and above, depending on affected number of guests. The guests affected will be gold in color. *(My results: Up to x200.)

Bottoms Up (3 Energy) – Used by your bartenders to serve the drinks instantly to guests waiting. Earns a small amount of money depending on the number of guests at the bar.

Remove Guest (3 Energy) – Used by your bouncers to remove any unwanted guests manually. Earns a sum of money when used which depends on the number of guests around. The more guest nearby, the higher the money bonus.

VIP Hookup (5 Energy) –  Used by your bouncers to manually hook your guests to a booth. Earns a sum of money depending on the type of guest. Happiness increases (+500). (My results : $7000 for Entourages & High Rollers, $3500 for Celebrities, Party Animals, Regulars and Dancers.)

Nightclub City Basics : Locations

New York – Increased Cover Charge (+$8) & Drink Price (+$4), requiring $5 million
Vegas – Increased crowd & High Rollers, requiring $5 million
Tokyo – Increased club capacity & crowd stays longer, requiring $8 million
Nightclub on Elm Street – Host Halloween parties and earn new costumes for yourself and your entourages, requiring $10 million
Tombstone Terrace – Host Halloween parties and earn new costumes for yourself and your entourages, requiring $100k
Twilight Acropolis – Increased Cover Charge (+$5), requiring $1 million
Nashville – Increases Drink Price (+$5) & Cover Charge (+$5), requiring $1 million
Tron City – Host new parties, requiring $50k

*(My results : At Drink Bonus $9, Supper Club Noir Bar base drink price $16, Nashville charges $30, New York charges $29, while the rest charges $25)

*(My results : At Cover Bonus $5, Basic Location(Booyah), Vegas, Tokyo, Tombstone Terrace, Nashville & Tron City charges $35, Twilight Acropolis charges $40 and New York charges $45)

*I have not unlocked Nightclub on Elm Street, thus all results are without the location. (Prices are at time of when i unlocked them which may be different from the current price)

Nightclub City Tips & Strategies : Roles

DJ – Use Drop Bass when you spot more guests on the dance floor. Both Drop Bass and Dedicate Song increase happiness and tip rate.

Bartenders – Use Bar Trick when there is a crowd near the bar counter to increase their tip rate generally 20+ & above. Use Bottoms Up when there are a lot of guests queuing for their drinks to avoid them feeling frustrated which reduces happiness.

Bouncers – Use Remove Guest when there are jerks or guests that caused a fight that is not within range of the bouncer and receive a Jerk Bonus for throwing them out. Use VIP Hookup to hookup large spenders to your booths when they appear or when most booths are empty. Your bouncers will have a popup note to tell you any specifics.

*Have a balanced amount of bouncers to the floor space. Any space that is more than 2 squares, guests could be there to occupy it. At the same time, try to arrange your placements so that the space that guests stand or occupy could be more focused so the Bouncers could be placed there to maintain the space. Any fights or jerk thrown out by Bouncers are free, no Energy is used, if they are within range. The rest of the workers that are not used as Bouncers could be used for Bartenders.

Celebrities – Booked them when you can if they are in the Currently in Town list since they are at a cheaper price. The advantage of booking them is the increase of popularity. Each celebrity has his or her own popularity ratings. When you book them 3 times, they will become your regular and will appear without needing you to book them.

*Regular Celebrities appearing in your club increases popularity which increases additional cover charges.

Nightclub City Tips & Strategies : Equipments

Generally buy new equipment every few level and not every level as you level up since you will actually level up quickly from level 1 to 20. I suggest that you buy new equipments at level 10, 20, 25, 30, 35 and so on… level up 5 levels before making the next upgrade till you max out the equipments… A lot of equipment placement depends on your design…

DJ Booth – Needless to say, it’s the booth that you are using and the price increases as the number of hours increases. Buy one that can allow you time away from the game.

Bar Counter & Bar Supplies – Buy an appropriate number of counters will do since the number of drinks you can serve is equal to the number of bartenders you have. Have an appropriate amount of bar supplies, either Bar Storage or Wall Storage, if you are often offline or away from the game. An estimation of 12000 should be able to last you 12 hours but it depends on certain factors as well.

Booths & Mini Booths – Depend your location, a number of 3 – 8 booths should be alright. A balanced amount of 5 should be fine. It greatly depends on your personal strategy if you use VIP Hookup since booths need to be booked with a sum of money and drinks purchases via booths are higher than over the counter, it is without tips of course. High Rollers and Entourages tend to book your booths.

Nightclub City Tips & Strategies : Pointers

1 ) If you can, run the game and play it. The money earned when playing is better than leaving it to AFK or offline. Try not to AFK if possible since they will ask you if you are there but pop up.

2 ) Use skills to maximize profits. – Drop Bass – To drive drink sales. – Bar Trick – When there’s a crowd in front or near the bar counters to increase tip rate. – Bottoms Up – When there’s a queue for drinks to avoid guests feeling frustrated. Instant serve them. – VIP Hookup – When your booths are empty.

3 ) Book Parties if possible, you may use Energy to instantly start your parties. Parties offer some advantages over normal circumstances with Power Ups. Each party has it’s own Power Ups, such as Tip Rate x2, Cover Charge x2, etc. Make sure you have enough for some skills to max out party requirements to gain bonuses or the Achievement title. Generally you can earn more money in a shorter time when running a party at the expense of Energy or booking time.

4 ) Complete Achievements. Some achievement title are automatically given to you as you play along, but some have to be or a specific direction to complete. You can gain bonus items and achievement points while completing them.

5 ) Another way of earning money is to Guest DJ for your friends and fill up their bar supplies. Both actions are involved in Achievement.

6 ) Booked your Celebrities. I can’t stress its importance any further. More regular Celebrities = more Celebrity appearance at your club = more Popularity = more cover charge. Also, they tend to spend more and give better tips.

7 ) Bar storages (+200) has retired and are being replaced by Wall Storage. Wall Storage (+1200) is no longer available and is left with Basic Wall Storage (+200). However, you may gain a Ultra Bar Storage (+500) from either the Golden Tap or Karmic Crusader Achievements, i don’t remember which since it was rather long time ago.

8 ) To increase happiness, use Dedicate Song for +100 happiness for VIP Hookup for +500 happiness. Use it on a longer staying guest such as Celebrities, High Rollers or Entourages. Pick one with a natural high happiness than others to begin increasing happiness for your Achievement.

9 ) You can receive free energy from winks (+1) or drinks (+1) sent by friends. Lookout for them in your inbox. You can also earn energy from Guest DJ-ing for your friends (+3) and from guest with High Fives (+1).

10 ) When you book celebrities, you can send them to your friends. Those that appear without booking cannot be sent. To send, press them to have their popup box appear.

11 ) Plan your Energy use properly since Energy is limited unless you buy or use Energy Boosters.

Nightclub City Tips & Strategies : Achievement Tips

1 ) For Make it Rain, $100, $7500 or $20000, run a party with Tips x2 (eg. Harry’s Happy Hour), when the guests are crowding at your bar, make all your Bartenders use Bar Trick (3 energy). *(My Result: I have a up to x200 when using 3 Bar Trick bunched together, however, I generally use Bottoms Up to serve all the guests that are at the counter that are affected by the Bar Tricks. )

2 ) For the Taco Fest achievement, run the Heartthrob Hootenanny (100 Energy with Power Ups of twice as many girls show up) or Bachelor Party (40 Energy) and have your bouncers use Remove Guest (1 Energy) on the guys to boot them out.

3 ) For the Cloud Nine achievement, to have a high happiness rate, use VIP Hookup (+500 Happiness) on a Celebrity or an Entourage with a higher happiness rate and use Dedicate Song (+100 Happiness). Seat them to prevent their happiness from falling from witnessing fights or other minor hiccups.

4 ) Install the Gamebar and receive 100 Achievement Point and 1 Ultra Energy Booster. It monitors DJ spin time, Party countdown, Message, Energy Meter & Bar status. Free daily Energy Boosters when installed.  Installable for Firefox & IE.

5 ) The way i got my 25 High Fives within the 10 mins for the party was using Bar Tricks, VIP Hookup, Bottoms Up and Dedicate Song. Depending on how many seats you have, you can have the bouncers use VIP Hookup (5 Energy) and you will generally get your High Fives. For Guests at the bar counters, you can use Bar Trick (3 Energy) or Bottoms Up (3 Energy) to have a chance of getting the High Fives. At the same time, you can use the traditional way of using Dedicate Song (1 Energy) for +100 Happiness. I had used about additional 50 – 100 energy, using energy boosters that had been given as free daily bonuses.
